Minutes of the meeting of the Friends of Ruskin Park, held on Tuesday, 21st April at 7.45 p.m.

Present :  Councillor Veronica Hardstaff (Chair), Barbara Waterhouse, Louise Gower, Keith Gower, Richard Saunders (Park Rangers), Jillian Missen (SCC)

1)       Minutes of the meeting held 16^th March 2004  
These were agreed as a correct record.

2)       Matters arising
None.

3)       Lottery bid
JM provided various documents to help with the lottery fund bid and with creating a business plan. These included a list of the money already available and the costs of various things required.

Various amendments to the bid were discussed, including monitoring by the Rangers and Streetforce. There was some discussion of who could be used as an independent referee. It may be possible to ask somebody from Walkley Forum.

It was clear from the costs that it is going to be necessary to draw up a business plan. It was agreed that KG, BW and Chris Ireland should get together to discuss drawing up a business plan. KG agreed to set up a meeting after consultation with Chris.                                                          Action: KG

The letter to Joanne Holland has been written and will be sent tonight. Action: BW

4)       Clean up
Richard Saunders (Rangers) will handle the clean up publicity. The Rangers will put on an awareness event to coincide with the clean up and will organise a skip.       Action: RS

5)       Any other business
Helen Todd is leaving NUCA to take up a full time job. It would be useful to have an alternative contact.

6)       Date and time of next meeting
The next monthly meeting, with a focus on progressing the lottery bid, will take place at the Gowers’ house at 8 pm on Thursday 27th May.
