Minutes of the meeting of the Friends of Ruskin Park, held on Tuesday 16^th April, 2002

1.      Present : Veronica Hardstaff (Chair); Max Telfer (Secretary); Sue Ireland; Nikky Wilson; Caroline Haw; Deb Loasby; Councillor Diane Leek; Fraser McDermott (Sheffield City Council);

2.      Apologies:  Rosemary Telfer; Chris Ireland; Alan Garner; Pat Garner; Brenda Wren; Barbara Waterhouse; Cllr Vicki Priestley

3.      Matters arising:

• The meeting with the consultants to be held on Tuesday, 7^th May at 6 p.m. in the church hall on Burgoyne Rd. Applicants are to be invited for 6.45 p.m., 7.15 p.m and 7.45 p.m.  Nikky will supply the name of a possible fourth consultant for consideration.  The secretary is to write to the applicants, inviting them to the meeting and asking them to bring evidence of previous work and references, where possible. The secretary will also bring packs for the panel members.
  
  
• The rangers are producing a leaflet, confirming the time of the Clean-Up as 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. They will also produce a poster. Veronica to ask them to ensure that the leaflet is ready for distribution before 18^th May.
  
  
• Walkley Festival.  See attached notes supplied by Deb Loasby.

4.      Summer event

Arranged for 17^th August. To be organised and advertised by the Rangers, who will let FORP  know nearer the date of our possible involvement.

5.      New Opportunities Fund

Ruskin Park is fourth on the list of possible applicants and FORP may be asked to apply.  The fund is administered by Sport England and money could be made available for work on the park infrastructure or as matched funding.

6.      Any other business

Caroline asked if it were possible to have lids on the dustbins. The dog bins also need attention.
