Ruskin Park Event

Saturday 29th June 2002
12.00 noon to 3.30 p.m.

1.      Accommodation:

·        Apostolic Church is booked. 

·        Sheffield City Council will provide a Hexadome, and Rachel will try to obtain the Rangers Marquee.

2.      Craft Fair.

Proposal is to charge people £5.00 per table -  to invite individuals known to the group, and to publicise as part of the Walkley Festival information.  Tables will be set up on the football pitch – space will also be available in the Apostolic Church, and in Marquees, in case the weather is bad

·        Deb/ Caroline to approach Tim Rose at St Mary’s regarding use of tables

·        Deb/Caroline to draw up a registration of interest form for prospective stall holders

·        Sue to be contact point for return of forms and interested stall-holders

3.      Activities.

·        Rangers to organise Children’s events

·        Chris to book Bouncy Castle

·        Rachel to explore cost of Wood Turners

·        Diane Leek is to request a Fire Engine to attend

·        Deb to contact police regarding display

·        Raffle - Sue has prepared letters to go out to local companies for prizes, and has a list of likely candidates!

·        Blake Street Dash – Chris to discuss with The Blake

·        Activity Stalls – Rachel to look into equipment from the Scrap Store which could be used to run activity stalls

·        School – to be asked if they wish to hold any activities etc. (Deb/ Caroline)

·        Bike Stall – Ian to arrange

4.      Refreshments

·        Blue moon Café – Deb to contact about having a stall

·        Ice Cream Van – Chris to book

·        Drinks facilities etc. – can be provided in the Apostolic Church

5.      Funding/ Insurance etc.

·        Chris to apply to Council for £250 events grant

·        Insurance covered by Sheffield Council (as rangers are involved with the event)

·        Chris to apply to General Manager of the Market to hold craft fair – provisionally agreed, may be a £30 charge

·        Sue has written to St John’s ambulance  to request First Aid Cover

6.      Displays/ Consultation

·        School to be asked to display sculpture (Rachel to Liaise with St Mary’s)

·        Display of play equipment selected through previous consultation to be set up in the Apostolic Church.

·        “Wishing Tree” – opportunity for people to say what they currently like/ what they would like to see in the park.  Rachel to explore options.

·        Photographs of the park/ previous FORP activities
